“And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.”
(Acts 21:14)
Holy greetings in the name of our soon coming King, Jesus Christ! What a mighty God we serve! Angels bow before Him. Heaven and earth adore Him! What a mighty God we serve! The scripture declares, “Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.” (Job 36:5) I certainly thank God for last week’s “Bethel Outside the Walls” Weekend! I believe God was pleased as we went out-of-the-box to reach those in this community with God’s Love on Fire!
This week on Tuesday, November 8th, America will be holding national elections! I want to encourage each of you to take advantage of this opportunity and your right to have your voice known through your vote. Billions of people around the world are not offered the privilege to vote in any kind of governmental elections. Their voice and desire is suppressed in totalitarian & communist governments. So many have to live based on someone else’s decision for them! However, the laws of America ensure that every citizen can let their wishes be known by voting.
This election is certainly special because not only are we electing local and state officials, but also national officials including the President of the United States. The ramifications of this election are great! I can’t tell you to vote for Secretary Hillary Clinton or to vote for Mr. Donald Trump. That is your choice… but I am encouraging you to pray and seek the Lord! Yes we have our personal choices and I have mine; however, what really matters is “The Will of the Lord be done!”
For us in the church, and more specifically at New Bethel, being in God’s will is the key to our lives. As recorded in the book of Acts, after a prophetic word was given to Apostle Paul that he would be bound & jailed if he went to Jerusalem, his friends & colleagues did all they could to convince Paul not to go. But the Apostle Paul recognized it was by divine destiny that he go (even if it meant he would be persecuted) because his desire was to fulfill the mandate on his life! That’s why the scripture declares, “And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.” (Acts 21:14)
So I encourage each of you to exercise your privilege and right to vote! Listen to the issues and understand each candidate’s position. Select the candidate that you feel led. But when it’s all been said & done, we must say, ‘Lord, Have Your Way!’ Times are too crucial and issues are too important, just for me to have what I want. “The Will of the Lord be done!”
Remember the ONLY reason why we are blessed is because of God’s will in our lives. This is “The Year of Performance!” Be blessed!
