“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
(Psalm 37:5)
Holy greetings in the wonderful name of our soon coming King, Jesus Christ! Certainly we were blessed with the move of God on Vision Sunday! Such a spirit of fellowship & excitement can still be seen & felt from all who attended and participated. From the Vision Ministry to the Vision Casting to the Consecration of new leaders, there was just a spirit of expectancy! We had an excellent “ministry fair” and I commend all the department head leaders for the creativity & work put into their ministry tables. Many of you signed up to get involved with the ministries you were interested in and felt lead to join. We can certainly declare that God has been good to us!
The Lord is preparing us, during this season of abundance, to handle the responsibility of ministry. I know that God is going to use us mightily to impact this local community of Wyandotte County, as well as the entire Kansas City Metro-Regional area… and even the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! But it will only come to pass if we are committed.
Now that we’ve been charged and have heard what’s before us in 2017, the onus or responsibility is on us to follow through and fulfill what’s been assigned. After such a powerful weekend we experienced last week, many will be saying, “I’m with the program…. I see the vision…. You can count on me!” But the question becomes, “Are you ‘committed’ to the cause?”
Being committed means you bind yourself as with a pledge or promise for the long-term involvement! David declares in the 37th Psalm, “Commit thy way unto the Lord.” When we examine the Hebrew transliteration of the word ‘commit’ it means to ‘roll.’ The scripture is then saying, “Roll the whole burden of your life upon the Lord.” Cast away anxiety, resign thy will, submit thy judgment, and leave it with the God of all! Remember that an effective great door has been opened but there are many adversaries. (1 Corinthians 16:9) Persevere regardless of the opposition and remain committed to the cause! No, the way will not always be easy and yes, you will have to experience some uncomfortable occasions; but realize that God is there to take you through!
God has given Bethel the word for 2017…this is The Year of Abundance! Last year we performed, but the Lord is saying this is the year of the “Abundance of a Divine Performance!” Be blessed knowing that Abundance is coming for you! Catch hold to the vision, see yourself being used by God, and remain committed to the cause!
