And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
(Genesis 32:28)
Greetings to the Household of Faith! We’ve been blessed to see and experience another wonderful day of life. Truly God has been good to us. I’m in awe at how the Lord is yet showing His hand at Bethel. I am so grateful for the opportunity we had to partake of the Holy Communion a couple of Sundays ago and today it will be offered again after the mid-morning service. I know for certainty that by us taking the Body & Blood of the Lord, our life was extended in Him. I know healings took place… deliverance was received… ministries were launched… and God has extended His favor toward us! The Spirit of God is moving in this place and for that I give God praise. That’s why David declared, “I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart…” (Psalm 9:1) Yes, we owe God our praise!
Please be reminded that “God Has Changed Your Name!” This past year has certainly had for us both victories, as well challenges. But even with the challenges and disappointments, I can declare that the Lord has been faithful! As God told Jacob, “…Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name; and he called his name Israel.” (Gen 35:10) Your name has been changed! Don’t let your past call you back!! Don’t even respond to anyone calling you from your past!! Just consider and “Look Where God Has Brought You!” You cannot go back to living in your past and taking on your old name! Move forward to your future & spiritual destiny! Your name is Blessed!!
The theme this year for our Fall Harvest Fest is “Superheroes Celebrating a Super God!” This free family event will be held on Tuesday, October 31st, as an alternative to celebrating Halloween. The event will be held at the 8th Street Family YMCA from 6-8pm and they are encouraging everyone to dress as a ‘superhero’ or ‘positive character.’ There will be games, food, fun activities, and of course candy!
God continues to shower New Bethel with His favor, for which I am eternally grateful. The vision for the church has been instilled along with intensive training & development. Yes, there have been long hours, much sacrifice and discouraging moments — but to God be the glory! The church membership has come together with such a spirit of unity & togetherness that is reflected by the love and move of God in our services. There’s an excitement in the air and more is getting ready to happen! The Lord has declared that this is, “The Year of Abundance!” Be blessed.

Pastor A. Glenn Brady
