“Some trust in chariots, and some horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord.”
(Psalm 20:7)
Greetings to the Household of Faith! Today is Palm Sunday, recognizing when our Lord Jesus Christ made His triumphant entry into Jerusalem prior to His week of ‘Passion’. And we’ve been blessed to see and experience another wonderful day of life. As we consider all that the Lord has done, truly we can declare that God has been good to us! For that reason I declare as David, “I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart…” (Psalm 9:1) We owe God our praise!
This week is our spring consecration, “The Power of a Lifted Jesus!” This will be a tremendous experience for us at New Bethel as we engage in a period of consecration to gain a deeper and closer walk with God. Regardless of what has happened in our past, taking this time to concentrate on our relationship with God will be an infusion of new life! How will this happen… by putting our “Hope In Jesus!”
We know through the scriptures that without “faith” it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6). And “hope” is the fuel that propels our faith. Hope can be defined as “to anticipate or look forward to something with confidence or expectation that it will be fulfilled.” As Believers, our life is totally dependent upon Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Savior; but for many who have not yet accepted or experienced the embracing power of God’s love, they can only rely on what they’ve been taught to put their hope in. Their hope is what the world has to offer. However, the scripture lets us know, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (1 John 2:16). Putting your hope in the world can only lead to heartache and disappointment.
For me, I’ve learned that ‘nobody can do me like Jesus!’ I know that the Lord will do me right and I’m putting my hope in Jesus. Faith is “God’s Word Believed!” If God declares it, then I know it will come to pass. Why? Because the scripture lets us know that it is impossible for God to lie! (Heb 6:18). Since ‘hope’ fuels the tank of faith, I’m filling up with hope in Jesus! Some trust in chariots, and some horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord.” (Psalm 20:7) Regardless of your situation, you are a child of God and our Heavenly Father cares for you! Put your hope in Jesus!
Don’t forget, the Lord said for 2016 that this is “The Year of Performance!” Now is the time to Perform! Let this week be like no other. Lady Angela and I our humbled to serve as your Pastor & First Lady. Be blessed!
