“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.”
(1 Corinthians 10:21)
We can declare as the Psalmist, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psalm 107:8) We are yet praising God for His awesome display of grace & mercy! The presence of God has been so evident in our midst and the response from souls has been phenomenal! In the last three weeks, a total of 10 individuals were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with many of them receiving the Holy Spirit! In addition 10 joined the Bethel family as members this past Sunday, which means already we surpassed the milestone of having 150 new members in 2015! Certainly the Lord has been faithful and we give all the glory to God!
We have experienced an extra-ordinary display of God’s mercy to the house of Bethel and I thank the many who joined me in fasting as we prepare for “The Communion of Fellowship!” Just as God has promised, this is “The Year of Happy” and we are yet seeing the ‘Blessings of God’ manifest among us. From healings in bodies… to new homes & apartments… to new jobs and automobiles… to promotions & increases on the job… to new spiritual relationships… God is keeping His word and more is coming!!
To culminate this move of God, we’ve been invited today to partake with Holy Communion. There’s nothing more important or sacred than Holy Communion! The time of consecration has been to prepare us for this moment. The word consecrate from the Hebrew transliteration is qādash which means to be clean, to purify or sanctify ones’ self. We can only enter God’s presence being cleansed or purified. We are moving beyond the veil into a new realm of relationship & fellowship with God as never before! As the Hebrew writer declared, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.” (Hebrews 10:19-20) As we partake of the Lord’s body & blood, we are being prepared for excellence in all aspects of our life… body, soul & spirit!
The Apostle Paul made it clear that we cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils. We been invited to fellowship with our Lord through Holy Communion; thus declaring our true allegiance is with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ! Be blessed today, receive life through the communion supper, and move to excellence in your life!
